Year in and year out we prevent many usable items from entering the landfill, such as furniture, clothing, electronics, food, and more. Yet diverting waste from the landfill is only one half of our mission. The other key part of the work we do is getting these items into the hands of those in our community who could use them. To do this, we partner with a wide network of community groups, nonprofit organizations, schools and churches within the area who accept donations on behalf of the people they serve. This allows us to fulfill specific needs for organizations who can get them to the right people and at no cost.
We have worked with many community groups over the years, but below is a list of the ones we partnered with past Spring:
- Addiction Center of Broome County
- Binghamton Food Rescue
- Binghamton University Food Pantry
- Binghamton University Q Center
- Broome County Department of Social Services
- Broome County Public Library
- Broome County Urban League
- Broome-Tioga Workforce
- CHOW
- The Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference
- George’s Garments at St. Cyril’s Church
- Lee Barta Community Center
- North of Main Community Center
- RISE
- Showers of Hope
- Sister Cities Yard Sale
- Southern Tier AIDS Program
- Temple Concord
- Truth Pharm
